JOIN THE VIRTUAL CLIMATE RISE
APRIL 18, 2020
We are a community of adventurers dedicated to protecting the planet. Since 2008, we’ve donated 6,108,135 to support conservation, climate, sustainability, and active transportation.
Climate Ride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that organizes life-changing charitable biking and hiking events to raise awareness and support sustainability, active transportation, and environmental causes. Visit our events page for more information on the latest bike and hike event offerings.
Climate Ride creates opportunities for you to engage in a way that is uniquely positive, life-affirming, and transformational. Climate Ride participants take on a challenge much bigger than themselves and share their journey with their personal networks helping to amplify support for the cause. Climate Ride is the only organization taking this approach in the environmental sector.
Our Mission
“To inspire and empower citizens to work toward a sustainable future. By using personal challenge as a means to change lives, Climate Ride is building an effective, citizen-based sustainability movement.”
Climate Ride empowers participants to actively engage in the fight against climate change by completing multi-day bicycling and hiking events to fundraise for the organizations they value most and take action together for the planet.
Immersive outdoor experiences and personal challenges are powerful tools for generating behavioral change to help ignite activism on climate policy, raise critical funds, and influence public opinion.
At a Glance:
- Climate Ride has raised over $6 million for climate, clean energy, and bicycle/pedestrian advocacy grantees
- Over to 3,500 people have participated in Climate Ride events since 2008

Portions of the Proceeds supportWe, The World andPlanet Heartto produce these events.“We hear Mother Earth’s call to simultaneously become more heart centered and action oriented. Feeling Mother Earth’s sacredness in our hearts can be profound motivation to act on Her behalf. Many actions are needed now, from calling legislators to attending rallies … art making, creative planning, spreading the word, writing letters to the editor … advocating for clean water, renewable energy … as well as social, racial, and economic justice issues that are inseparable from co-creating a sustainable, thriving world that works for all. We believe these actions are most effective, and most beautiful, when they are inspired by and carried out with love and respect for this beautiful planet, all who reside here, and whatever divine energies are loving us and encouraging us through this Great Turning. This feeling of connection, love, and inspiration is what we seek to create through Planet Heart’s Annual World Peace Earth Day. Please join us, be inspired, keep your heart open, and channel that love into action. ”

DIVEST – Divestment and Climate Financing – April 23
Led by Stop the Money Pipeline Coalition, during this day of action we are calling for a global reset. We want to reprogram the economy so that it works for people and the planet, not polluters and politicians.
VOTE – Voter Registration and Political Engagement – April 24
We need leaders who will address this existential threat. It’s critical for all of us to show up at the polls this year and vote for our future. So the final day will focus on the importance of voting through a nationwide youth voter registration day.
The US Climate Strike Coalition and Stop The Money Pipeline Coalition, who together are made up of over 500 organizations, have come together to organize Earth Day Live.
The US Climate Strike Coalition is a coalition of over 400 organizations that formed ahead of the September 20, 2019 climate strikes. Led by the leading youth-led climate organizations in the US, the coalition works intergenerationally and collaboratively to coordinate the Climate Strikes in the US.
Stop the Money Pipeline is a coalition of over 100 climate, environmental and Indigneous rights groups that is demanding that the financial sector stops funding the fossil fuel industry and deforestation, and starts respecting Indigenous sovereignty and human rights.
Humanity Rising represents a movement of people and organizations coming together to take counsel on how to leverage the crisis of the current pandemic into an opportunity for human renewal and increased resilience to future challenges. . The coronavirus has been an unprecedented global event. For the first time in history, virtually everyone everywhere has been challenged by the same illness with consequences that have effectively compelled most infected countries into some form of lockdown. People all over the world are having the same feelings about their wellbeing, the same anxieties about survival, and the same questions about how they are going to rebuild beyond the pandemic. This is true whether you are an individual, a company, an organization, or a country. All of us everywhere at every level are in the same conversation. Everything has been disrupted, everything needs to change. Let us take advantage of this and come together to reshape our world in alignment with a positive vision of the future.
